Non-Profit Organizations Wanting to Reserve for a Retreat or to use as a Fund-Raising Auction Item

Please email information described below to Karena Heredia kheredia@centerforhumanrights.org and Peter Schey pschey@centerforhumanrights.org. Communications from organizations or projects should describe, as applicable, the organization or project's mission, the major issues the organization or project focuses on, the client population and its needs being addressed, the purpose of the retreat or workshop, how many people are expected to attend (max. 12 with two people per bedrooms), who will be invited to attend (e.g. staff members, participants in the project, etc.), proposed dates, approximate annual budget of the organization/project, need (if any) for financial assistance for travel or food, and ability to pay for use of the retreat center. Relevant resource materials describing the organization's or project's work may be attached to the cover letter. CHRCL also may donate one-week visits to non-profits to use as a fund-raising tool (auctions, etc.). In order to cover CHRCL's costs of operating the Kauai retreat center, non-profits using a one week visit as a donated item will agree to reimburse CHRCL 30% (minimum of $750) of the donation the non-profit receives for the one-week visit. All visitors are also required to pay a $300 cleaning fee.

Individuals involved in social justice work

Individuals applying should describe in a cover letter their background, the type of work in which they are engaged, any publications that refer to their work, publications they have authored, the purpose of the intended use of the retreat center, dates requested, number of people, identify other people who may join the retreat or proposed workshop (if any), need (if any) for financial assistance for travel or food, and ability to pay for use of the retreat center. Please also attached your resume to your cover letter.
